Lisa Papp's new picture book about Bonnie the Library Dog is warm and wonderful – and just the ticket for little readers who've lost their confidence.

Even more heartwarming is that it's all completely true! The story's based on the "reading dogs" programme used by many schools and libraries, since reading to an animal can be less intimidating than a teacher or parent.

How great is it to know that there are real life Bonnies out there, helping children to love stories and lose themselves in a book?
