The Kate Greenaway Medal is one of the top prizes in publishing, celebrating the very best in children's book illustration - take a look for yourself in our picture gallery.

This is an exciting year for the CILIP Kate Greenaway Medal.

Not only is it the 60th anniversary year of the UK's oldest and most prestigious book award - along with its sister Carnegie prize - but Children's Laureate Chris Riddell is on the shortlist again for A Great Big Cuddle.

This means he could win the Kate Greenaway Medal for a record-breaking fourth time. Yes: FOURTH.

All worthy winners

But there are plenty of other brilliant choices among the shortlist, too. In fact, we're only glad that we don't have to make the final decision!
