Time to Read for teachers
At BookTrust we know that reading regularly has so many benefits for children. It can help them to express themselves and deal with new and challenging situations.
Through our Time to Read campaign we want to encourage children to spend a little time reading at home each day. Our Time to Read packs contain tips for families to continue sharing stories together, activity ideas and a book – We’re Going to Find the Monster. These packs are available for every Reception-aged child in England and every Primary One child in Northern Ireland from November to help make settling into school a little easier.
We’re Going to Find a Monster by Malorie Blackman and Dapo Adeola is an action-packed fun tale that is sure to spark every child’s imagination!
Your school will receive a delivery of Time to Read packs during November. A Teacher Letter will be included in the delivery boxes (it can also be downloaded below), this has lots of ideas to help you theme a lesson or activity around Time to Read and get your pupils excited about reading with their family at home.
