Watch Laura Dockrill read the ultimate poem about mums

Published on: 29 August 2017

All-round creative spark Laura Dockrill – author, illustrator AND performance poet – has just published her first poetry book for children.

Laura Dockrill's new poetry book is crammed full of brilliant poems that your child will love reading out loud. That's why we just had to include it in our Great Books Guide 2017.

My Mum's Growing Down is all about a funny, free-spirited mum who can be just a little bit naughty, too...

Don't take our word for it, though. Watch the video below to listen to Laura read one of the poems to you: 'My Mum is a Bird'.

And you can even ask your little one afterwards – 'If mum were a bird, what kind would SHE be?' Laura's poem will give them plenty of inspiring ideas!
