Phil Earle says goodbye
Published on: 01 August 2016 Author: Phil Earle
The fantastic author Phil Earle, who's work includes the Being Billy and Demolition Dad, became our thirteenth Writer in Residence back in 2016. After six months as Writer in Residence, Phil Earle hands over the reins in his final vlog.
Since January, Phil has hosted Twitter chats, interviewed the likes of Darren Shan and Tom Palmer and taken us through his top funny and audiobooks.
In his final vlog, Phil states:
'I really do believe in the stuff i've been talking about - this idea about there being a book out there for every child. It's something that means an awful lot to me. For a long time I felt excluded from reading. I didn't feel like there was ever going to be a book out there that was going to talk to me.'
He then goes on to say:
'Finding that book came at a really crummy time in my life. I'd had difficult times with jobs and difficult times with health. So to find children's books at the age of 26 gave me a way back into life. I just feel massively blessed.'
