Transport and dogs come together in this bright, joyful picture book which follows a train, boat and plane over the course of a busy day.

There’s the Flying Scottie Dog steam train which click-clacks its way out of the station. Then there’s the SS Seadog ferry boat which makes its way across a stormy sea to shore. Lastly, the Terri Air aeroplane glides through the sky before coming into land at its destination. But where are all the canine passengers who travel across land, sea and sky going? The final pages capture their destination in gorgeous colourful detail before it’s time for all the sleepy dogs to head home the same way they came…

The brilliant rhyming text has a rhythm which gathers pace just like the vehicles in the story. Combined with short snappy sentences and word repetition, this book is a joy to read and share aloud. The scenes of the train station, ferry port and aeroplane are rich in detail, offering lots for young readers to spot on the journey. There’s a hint at possible obstacles along the way, but ultimately this is a cheerful celebration of vehicles and a fun travel adventure!
