The Smug Pug

It’s the end of the Easter Holidays in Crumbly-under-Edge, and Pippa Peppercorn is not looking forward to returning to school. But this term there’s a new girl with mad, red hair and huge black spectacles - and she’s got a dog concealed in her bag!

Meet Tallulah Foghorn, and Smug the Pug. Pippa can’t wait to introduce them to Mrs Fudge and Dash the dachshund, at the Chop-and-Chat pooch-pampering parlour and hair salon. But when Tallulah and Smug invent an amazing machine to increase customer numbers – both human and canine – Dash is suspicious. Who are these flamboyant strangers, and can they be trusted?

This readable, fast-moving story brims with engaging characters and humour, as the faithful Dash remains unfazed by the glamorous bluster of exotic incomers.  Great fun!
