Beyond Booked Up

This programme is no longer running.

Beyond Booked Up, 2012-2018, was a free programme providing resources to secondary schools with significant numbers of students who are eligible for free school meals.

The programme aimed to inspire a love of reading in Year 7 and 8 students through engagement with high quality writing across a range of formats.

Schools that took part in Beyond Booked Up received free sets of termly resources to help engage students with reading for pleasure. The resources included free books for Year 7 students through Bookbuzz, introductions to graphic novels, play scripts, myths and legends, performance poetry and short stories.
