Meet our new Writer in Residence Rashmi Sirdeshpande!

Hi, everyone. I'm Rashmi Sirdeshpande and I am beyond thrilled to be the new BookTrust Writer in Residence. I'm going to be here until the end of August 2024 and let me tell you, I am so excited!

I write all kinds of things from picture books and poetry to non-fiction books or factual books for younger and older readers and behind me you can see just some of the books that I've made together with some amazing illustrators.

Now, I may write all kinds of books but my love of reading and my love of learning actually began with factual books. And so the theme for my residency is going to be using factual books to fascinate young readers.

It's all about following that natural sense of curiosity and wonder and encouraging children and grown ups to discover incredible facts together. Now, I don't know about you, but I cannot wait to get started. This is going to be so much fun!
