Here's the REAL Jungle Book story you've been waiting for
Published on: 19 December 2018
Into the Jungle is full of stories inspired by Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book, and is a modern classic in the making. Here's your chance to look inside...
Into the Jungle (Macmillan) by Katherine Rundell, illustrated by Kristjana S Williams, is gorgeous.
With a foiled cover, ribbon maker and full-colour illustrations in a hardback edition, it's the sort of book that would make a truly brilliant gift.
It's also a very wise and wonderful revisiting of characters from Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book, following some of the characters we know and love, such as Baloo, Shere Khan, Kaa and Bagheera. It does so with a lot of care and consideration to fans of the original, while also emphasising some more diverse elements.
The cherry on top are the illustrations from Kristjana S Williams, which are lush, lavish and rich with colour and detail.
