Where's Jamela?

(1 reviews with an average rating of 5 out of 5)

Publisher: Frances Lincoln

Jamela is worried about moving to her new home, although her mother tries to reassure her that they will be happy there.

In an attempt to avoid the move, Jamela hides in a large box but she is found and learns to face her fears with the comfort of her family.

This is a lovely book, with cheerful illustrations throughout. It sends the message to young readers that, while sometimes change can be frightening, with the help and comfort of loved ones most fears can be overcome. The message is universal, but the South African setting adds an extra dimension to the story.
