Olivia's First Term

Tragic circumstances force Olivia and her younger sister Eel to leave their circus life and join The Swan Academy of Theatre and Dance run by their strict grandmother, while their father goes off to try and earn a living.

Whilst Eel flies high in the school as she is born to dance, Olivia is unhappy as she misses her father, the circus and her beloved highwire which her grandmother disapproves of.

Subjected to ballet and acting classes which she hates, and bullied by the highly unpleasant popular girl Katie Wilkes-Cox, Olivia is deeply unhappy until she befriends Tom, teaching him the highwire in secret, and invents a radical new act.

With strong characters and a gripping story, girls will enjoy this fresh take on the classic stage story and look forward to the rest of the books in the series.
