Noni the Pony Counts to a Million

Publisher: Allen & Unwin

Count to a million with Noni the pony as she has fun with her friends. She starts her day with one tree where she watches her two friends, Coco the cat and Dave the dog. Then throughout the day, we meet and count more animals until it's time for bed and Noni snuggles down under millions of stars.

Written by Australia's first Children's Book Laureate, Noni the Pony Counts to a Million ia a rhyming counting story filled with adorable native animals- including wallabies and wood swallows. As well as encouraging pre-schoolers to count to ten, it also introduces larger numbers like hundreds, thousands and millions.

Using charcoal and watercolour, the illustrations are cute and simple. As the day goes on, the colours used turn from bright greens and oranges to darker blues at night time- making it a sweet bedtime read.
