You’ve Been Werewolfed

Review

Tyler can’t wait for the summer holidays to start, so she can focus on perfecting her latest invention, a lunar-powered hologram phone, snappily named the Hologramophone 2000.

She is dismayed, therefore, to learn that Dad has enrolled her at Happyville Summer Camp, where the focus is on wholesome, outdoor fun and channelling one’s inner woodland creature. Thankfully, she can share the experience with her two best friends Ashley and Dylan, who are also being forced to attend the camp.

After an arduous first day of climbing, canoeing and learning a pointlessly over-complicated handshake, Dylan craves some light relief. Borrowing Tyler’s hologramophone, she installs the Change Me! app so she can create a cute on-screen animal persona. However, disaster strikes when, following an unexpected power surge, the app's effects transfer to Dylan and she grows a pair of hologram puppy ears. She rapidly begins to display other canine characteristics and Tyler and Ashley are alarmed when they realise that she is, in fact, morphing into a werewolf.

This hilarious madcap adventure, with comic black-and-white illustrations, is sure to elicit guffaws of laughter throughout. A hugely entertaining read, this is the second book to feature Tyler and her Happyville friends.
