Mae’r cyfuniad o’r testun â’r darluniad trawiadol yn asio yn berffaith i adlewyrchu taith merch ifanc o dristwch llwyd i hapusrwydd lliwgar yn nhudalennau olaf y llyfr. Mae’r defnydd o liw i ddangos teimladau'r prif gymeriad yn hynod effeithiol – ar motiff cyson bod unrhyw ddelwedd yn ymwneud gyda gobaith a natur yn lliwgar yn siŵr o ddal sylw darllenwr ifanc. Mae neges y stori, sef bod newid, ym mhob ffurf, yn cymryd amser, yn un pwysig i unrhyw ddarllenydd ac yn cael ei gyfleu yma mewn ffordd afaelgar.

At the heart of this story is the journey of a mother and daughter trying to adapt to a new life after leaving an unhappy situation. The combination of the text and the striking illustrations blends perfectly to reflect the journey of a young girl from grey sadness to colourful happiness in the last pages of the book. The use of colour to show the main character’s feelings is very effective – based on the consistent concept that any image connected with hope and nature is colourful and is sure to grab the attention of a young reader. The story’s message, that change takes time, whatever its form, is an important one to any reader and this is conveyed here in a gripping way.
