Baby on Board
Publisher: Puffin
A trip to the beach with his sisters and friends develops into an epic adventure for a baby and his three toys.
All morning, the children play happily and look after the baby… Until they dash off in pursuit of a flyaway kite, leaving him alone on the shore.
The baby claps his hands in delight as his pram is carried out to sea on the tide. Meanwhile, doll, panda and rabbit work tirelessly to take care of him as they bob about on the ocean waves. They give him his bottle, tuck the blanket snuggly around him, bail the water out of his pram during a treacherous storm, and finally call in some unexpected reinforcements to get him home safely.
Written by a master storyteller, the drama builds with each turn of the page. Charming watercolour illustrations, reminiscent of a bygone era, bring the characters to life, and spectacular double-page spreads create a wonderful atmosphere of anticipation and excitement. This delightful tale is sure to become a firm favourite with children and adults alike.
