The It Girl: Superstar Geek
Publisher: Farshore
Anna Huntley just moved to London and isn’t the most popular girl at school. That isn’t helped by the fact she set Josie Graham’s hair on fire with a Bunsen burner (by accident) or that she tries to recreate scenes from The Lion King with her pet Labrador.
But when her dad gets engaged to one of the most famous actresses in the world, Anna is thrust into the paparazzi’s spotlight. Suddenly, everyone at school wants to be around Anna as well, including the boy she fancies. Now Anna has to learn to be an 'It Girl', with the help of her glamorous soon-to-be stepmum and stepsister - but what if she isn’t It Girl material?
This is a funny book about friends, family and learning to be yourself.

Jane Austen with a twist - for children
Pride and Prejudice is of course a much-loved route into Austen's works - and it's perfect for older teens. But here are other books by other authors that may appeal to children a little bit younger.

I really like this book because of all the drama that goes on in Anna's life. My favourite part was when Anna realised that she doesn't need popularity and is happier with the friends she already has.

It was a really funny book but I think it was more for younger readers but it was still pretty good. I really enjoyed the book though.

This book is a really good book. it is very descriptive and seems like what would happen in real life.
