The Book with No Pictures

(1 reviews with an average rating of 5 out of 5)

Publisher: Puffin

This playful picture book will be certain to grab children's attention - but not for the reasons you might expect. US writer, actor and comedian B J Novak has created this hugely entertaining book, which has no pictures at all, but only cleverly-designed text, boldly presented against a white background.

It's in reading this book aloud that the sheer fun of this book becomes evident. Sharing the book with a child, the adult reader finds themselves suddenly compelled to say all sorts of silly things, and make all sorts of funny noises, all the while pleading with the child listener to allow them to stop. Children will unsurprisingly take huge delight in this simple yet ingenious picture book, which perfectly demonstrates the joy of reading together. Demanding to be shared, this is a fresh and enormously funny book that children will want to hear time and time again.
