Sometimes I Feel Sunny
Publisher: Picture Corgi
An introduction for the youngest readers to the different feelings they experience, from sad to funny, angry to sunny, and even lost and small.
Shields and Birkett allow their readers to see each feeling through the clear text and the simple images, which show exactly what each feeling is like. Text size and format also imitates the meaning of the words, so that the spread with 'sometimes I feel frightened, scared and lost and small' shows a small child, knee-high to all those around him, lost in a forest of legs.
Resolution is offered at the end of the story, which finishes with the child feeling loved.

Nearly 3yo enjoyed this book and shortly after started talking more about feelings. Have found it very helpful as well as enjoyable to read.

Another lovely book issac was really interested in with the feeling and the matching cards. Showed much more interest than normal. It's made reading with him a much more pleasant experience. Very happy mummy.

Noah absolutely loves this book, we read three books before bed and this is always the last one as it has a very calm feel at the end and talks about being loved and kissing goodnight! I hope to find more books as good as this one!!!
