Snowglobe

Clementine’s mother, Calisto, left when she was two years old and for the past ten years, she and Pa have been shrouded in sadness. Knowing that Clem inherited her mother’s magic, Pa gives her Calisto’s notebook, hoping it may provide answers about who she is and why her mother left.

The book contains a sketch of a mysterious house, and Clem is astounded when she comes across the same building while out walking. Venturing inside, she discovers countless swirling snowglobes, each containing a magician trapped within a miniature world.

Clem is dismayed to see her classmate Dylan imprisoned in one of the glass domes and bravely enters the globe to rescue him. She must avoid the wrath of Ganymede and Io, ruthless keepers of the snowglobes, and learn to harness her own magical powers, which are awakened as she explores the enchanted realm.

This compelling fantasy adventure features some formidable female characters and illustrates the importance of being true to yourself. Love, loss, magic and friendship are all explored and readers will welcome Clem’s transformation from a bullied loner into a powerful magician, willing to stand up for what is right.
