When Stephenanie Edgley is attacked after her uncle (Gorden Edgley) is murdered., she is thrown into a world of magic, sorcerers, skeletons (Skulduggery pleasant) and of course a dark sorcerer (Serpine) who is bent on getting a weapon that can destroy everything. Or that's what Skulduggery seems to think. But is Serpine's plot bigger than that? Brilliant book.

I loved this book. I am 10 yrs old in a few days and i read this book in about a couple of weeks and i am a very slow reader.i recommend this book to people who like to have a bit of a laugh and deal with a little bit of gory. I am almost finished with book 2 and i love it .

An amazing book! The author Derek Landy is so talented; I like the plot, the characters and everything. It was a joy to read and I would recommend it to everyone I know.

It was a really amazing bookj. I loved the characters and plot is excellent as well. The story is about a skeleton called Skulduggery Pleasant who solves crime mysteries with his sidekick companion called Stephanie edgley(valkyrie cain).

Honestly the best collection of books you'll ever read. They are amazing to grow up with. They are the perfect blend of action and witty comedy. If you can't tell already: I definitely recommend. :]
