White Cat is one cool customer - far to cool to care about silly superstitions. He doesn't heed the warnings of a black cat who tells him to avoid cracking mirrors, walking underneath a precarious ladder and stepping on the pavements cracks, White Cat is just too cool, and responds to warnings with a succession of boastful retorts!
But, as we all know, pride comes before a fall and eventually White Cat tries one boast too many, with hilariously disastrous consequences.
David Roberts' illustrations are as stylish as ever in this picturebook and his White Cat, with his artful quiff and insouciant manner is a memorable character.
