Why sharing stories supports bonding 07/10/24
Kensuke's Kingdom
Publisher: Farshore
Michael is hungry, lonely and scared when he is washed up on a seemingly deserted island. He soon discovers another inhabitant - Kensuke, a former Japanese soldier - who, although initially unfriendly, provides Michael with food and water.
Gradually, a strong bond develops between the two castaways. This is a beautifully written tale of an exceptional friendship which survives beyond the boundaries of culture and language.

This book is truly fantastic! In this book Morpurgo has managed to describe characters perfectly and really has got you engrossed in the book, like you're really there! This book is perfect for adventure fans, and I would say this is brilliant for boys and girls from 9+.

A really clever and well written piece of fiction, I genuinely couldn't put it down! Michael Morpurgo is second to none in making his characters come to life through his detailed descriptions. Dameeda!

A moving book of friendship devastating effects from the war and a lot of excitement! A really good book with a sad ending! As usual Micheal Morpurgo brings the true feeling of the characters through and really uses deep feelings well !
