James and the Giant Peach
Publisher: Puffin
When his parents are unceremoniously eaten by a rhinoceros that escapes from London Zoo, James is forced to go and live with his unpleasant aunts. Through a series of peculiar and magical happenings, James finds himself in a giant peach with a bunch of friendly giant insects for travelling companions.
Determined to find a better life, the insects bite the great peach free from its tree and launch into an amazing journey to freedom. Their travels are accompanied by much humour and plenty of ridiculous rhymes along the way in true Roald Dahl style. Perfectly illustrated by Quentin Blake.

Roald Dahl books
We wanted to celebrate the Roald Dahl centenary by putting a selection of 'wondercrump' books Roald Dahl has written into one perfect list. You've probably read all these books several times already, but you can never get tired of these individual pieces of magic.

I think James's aunts are very cruel to him and I think it was weird when James found the animals inside of the peach ( the peach would have been rotten)

It is really funny. The horrible aunts are really mean to James and it is a bit sad at the beginning but then when it gets to the bit when he goes inside the peach and so on it gets really funny and stupid at the same time. It is really silly. I could go on and on. I recommend this book for 6+.
