We love reading this book together. As a one-year-old, my son loved looking at the pictures, and now as a three-year-old, it is not only a beautiful story but also allows us to have a conversation about the different types of animals e.g. their colour, their body parts and where have we seen them in real life etc.

First book I ever read to my daughter at 6 months and it's one of her favourite books still at almost 2. Great drawings and story and she loves pointing out the animals.

As a teacher I have always loved this book. My daughter has a jungle themed bedroom so this was an obvious choice to read to her. Rhyming books are a particular favourite of mine.

We read it at bedtime. Gerald was sad. He went back to the jungle and he saw a cricket. The cricket helped Gerald to dance, and Gerald became the best dancer in the jungle. The drawings are fun and there is a happy ending.

Love this book so much. Bought it as a student teacher to read to a nursery class while on placement the children loved it. When I began my first job as a nursey teacher my preschool children loved the story too we also based a whole week on this book. Now I have a little girl of my own we will be sharing this story together.

I bought this book and it had a little giraffe with it. My son loves the giraffe and also loves the story. I read it to him whilst he is lying on his blanket.

This book was given to me by a friend. I loved the story of the giraffe who could dance.
