Einstein's Underpants and How They Saved the World

Maths geek Alexander and his unlucky best friend Melvyn are the unlikely heroes of this quirky adventure from former Booktrust Teenage Prize-winner Anthony McGowan.

Alexander's crazy Uncle Otto is convinced that the planet is about to be invaded by a race of very smelly aliens who seek to destroy mankind - but since Uncle Otto also wears a tinfoil hat and believes yoghurt is evil, no one takes him very seriously.

Even Alexander doesn’t believe him until Uncle Otto passes on a surprising but unexpectedly powerful gift that helps him to uncover the truth – Einstein’s underpants.

Now it’s down to Alexander, Melvyn and an ill-assorted group of school misfits to team up as the FREAKS (Federation of Really Awesome Kids) and take on the aliens.

But with little more than Einstein’s pants, some toy ray-guns and an angry pet tortoise to save them, how will they save the world from destruction?
