Crayon

Publisher: Simon & Schuster

Red Creature has a blue crayon. Blue Creature has a red crayon. They colour happily, until Red rudely scribbles on Blue's paper. A noisy crayon fight follows: Red's crayon gets broken. 'Here, take my red' offers Blue, contritely: in response, Red scribbles on Blue, who turns purple. And at the mention of purple, who should turn up but …. Purple!

Purple and Blue go off together and draw happily, joined by a host of other colours: yellow, pink, orange, brown and green. Forlorn and solitary, Red looks on. But suddenly they realise they are missing something - it's Red of course!

There's humour and vibrancy in this introduction to colour, which cleverly combines line and crayon drawings, photographs and different fonts to graphically portray the concept.
