Some Dogs Do
Publisher: Walker Books
One morning, Sid the dog is filled with an overwhelming feeling of happiness which – to his utter surprise – sends him floating into the sky and all the way to school!
He excitedly tells his friends, but is laughed at and ridiculed by them, because they all know - of course – that dogs can’t fly. Sid is challenged to prove his aeronautical skills, but by this time his happiness has been replaced with a sad, heavy feeling inside; when he leaps into the air, he just lands with a flop on the ground.
When he arrives home, it falls to Sid’s dad to cheer him up with a little secret! Colourful illustrations and rhyming text combine in this truly uplifting tale.

I have shared this book with every single four-to-five year old during my library sessions and every time I read it the children are entranced and the teachers can hear a pin drop. This is my favourite book of all time!

A real good story! My daughter and I read this again and again online. She finally got a hard copy from a cousin! We have read it so many times that she can now tell the story off by heart. She looks at the page and reads the story from memory which is really funny :)

I read this book at school. I really liked it because it was funny. It was funny because the dog could fly, then he couldn't, then he could again. - William, age 5

Another of my daughter's favourites. Picked it up at a charity shop as we do most of her books and we read it as a bedtime story very regularly. (i can read it without the book now and so can she!) highly recommended.

My Daughter loved this book, one of her favourite bedtime stories. It is one of her childhood memories and all because "some dogs do, you know!"
