Car, Car, Truck, Jeep
Publisher: Bloomsbury
Car, car, truck, jeep, have you any fuel? Yes sir, yes sir, three tanks full.
Putting a new slant on an old favourite, this colourful rhyming journey along the road to the seaside is sung to the tune of Baa, Baa, Black Sheep and showcases vehicles and transport of all kinds. Who’d have thought going out in the car for the day could be so much fun!
With its fun cast of vrooming, beeping characters, this rhythmic, rhyming story is sure to be an instant hit with very young children, as well as with toddlers and preschoolers, who will enjoy spotting new and familiar vehicles and animals. At the end of the book, all the vehicles park up for the night and drift off to sleep, so it ticks all the boxes for a brilliant bedtime story, too.
Including everything from dumper trucks and trains to hovercraft and motorbikes, this cheery picture book is enriched by Nick Sharratt’s trademark illustrations in bold primary colours.

Sharing rhymes with very young children helps them become familiar with the patterns of language and helps them develop their understanding of how language works.

Books based on nursery rhymes
Babies and toddlers love songs, especially those with actions. If there are pictures and books involved too, this is even better!
These books feature traditional nursery rhymes, or variations on them. Enjoy sharing them together.

My almost 2 year old son absolutely adores this book and we have ended up reading it several times a day since we bought it! Lovely, bold illustrations give us lots of things to talk about and singing the melody of a well-known tune is an excellent idea! Would highly recommend!
