About this book
Life in the forest is simple - every animal knows their place. The red squirrels spend their days collecting nuts high up in the branches, while the moles keep busy tunnelling underground. Each group of animals are content in their own worlds with the places and the creatures that are familiar to them. But when a curious squirrel and an inquisitive mole start asking questions about what lies beyond their familiar worlds, they are met with warnings not to venture into the unknown. Fortunately, the squirrel and the mole’s curiosity are stronger than their fear and when they finally meet up, by accident, they find joy and friendship with the ‘other’ that their parents had warned them against. This is a fantastically fun and clever book from Tir Na-Og winning author Sioned Wyn Roberts. Children will be fascinated by the fact that the book can be read either from front to back or from back to front, this coupled with funny, engaging illustrations will help children to engage with the very important message that is at the heart of the book.
