Our organisation
Find out more about how who we are as an organisation, how we work and our strategic ambitions.
Where we operate
We operate in England, Wales and Northern Ireland and have long-term partnership agreements in place with every local authority in England and Wales.
Our headquarters are in Leeds and we have offices in London, Cardiff and Belfast, as well as staff across the country. Our sister charity, Scottish Book Trust, supports families in Scotland.
Our Bookstart early years gifting model has been replicated beyond the UK’s borders, which you can find out more about in our affiliate section.
How we operate
We are one of Arts Council England’s National Portfolio Organisations. Our governance team, includes senior leadership team, our trustees, our patron and our president.
Our Chair and Board of Trustees hold overall responsibility for the charity’s activities and its assets; ensuring legal and charitable compliance and efficient use of resources.

Our strategy
The Next Chapter sets out how we will get every child reading, regularly and by choice, so they can reap the lifechanging benefits of reading.
