About this book
Apprehensive about his new teacher and concerned about the difficulty of the work in Year 6 Dylan is reluctant to go back to school. When he’s confronted with a mathematics test in his first few days, his fears appear to be realised. Lacking confidence, he copies the answers from his friend and his new teacher notices. He tells Dylan he will be sitting a retake in his next lesson. With the first school trip of the year imminent and in an attempt to keep the news of his test away from his parents, Dylan decides to revise. However, having completed the resit Dylan is shocked be told that as part of his punishment, he will not be allowed to attend the school trip. A furious Dylan wishes for every teacher in the world to disappear. On arrival in school the next morning it becomes clear that his wish has come true. Although initially ecstatic at his new teacher-less life Dylan soon begins to see the negative effect of a world without teacher not only on his friends and family but on the entire future of the world! Packed with cartoon illustrations this is a funny engaging book.
