About this book

“Somewhere in the great big universe, so inconspicuous you could almost miss it, floats a little blue dot.”

This little blue dot is Earth, and she is not happy. All the other planets seem so much more exciting than her. There’s big old Jupiter with his giant storms, Venus who shines brightly like a morning star and (of course) Saturn with his amazing, icy rings. Compared to them, who would ever notice a boring planet like her?

But, at the end of the Solar System tour, the other planets all speak up about how amazing Earth really is. They admire her blue oceans and green forests and, most significantly of all, the life that thrives on her surface. It turns out there is more to this little blue dot than first meets the eye...

This beautifully designed non-fiction book takes you on a journey to meet the planets, dwarf planets and other significant features of the solar system. The illustrations are really pleasing with friendly, personified planets, muted colours and a clear layout; and the information is well-pitched to its target age-range, with a good amount of detail for inquisitive minds.

This charming book would work well as an inspiration for an art project based around the solar system.
