About this book

Meet Salty Dog, Kitty the cat and Bernard the duck. They all live in an upside-down boat by the sea, having mini adventures. This slim volume contains four short stories. Join them as they fly a kite - with more flying than anticipated - are scared by a knock on the door during a storm, have an extravagant bathtime, and get involved in knitting.

This adorable book is completely delightful. The friends are supportive of each other, and gentle with each other when they get things wrong, and they're very individual. One is slightly nervous and creative, one impetuous and generous, and the third is artistic and sensible. But together they have fun and resolve any mild peril or misunderstandings. The illustrations throughout are incredibly cute, containing a lot of expression. The format of four stories in one volume gives young readers a chance to perhaps read a whole story in one go, which is encouraging. This would also be lovely to read aloud.
