School Library Pack

The School Library Pack and Special School Library Pack are reading for pleasure programmes, providing free books to mainstream schools in England, with a year 7 intake (or equivalent) plus those with a substantial number of children on free school meals.

The pack contains carefully selected books, to help boost school libraries, broaden students reading and encourage them to try different genres and authors. The Special School Library Pack includes books and resources to support students with additional needs.

Thanks to the funding by Arts Council England, as well as BookTrust’s partners and donors, we can make this pack free to eligible schools.

Which schools will receive the pack?

Covid-19 has put a great deal pressure on charities, and we need to ensure that we use our resources to reach the children who really need our support in these extraordinary times. To that end, we are distributing the packs directly to schools, with no registration process, focusing on mainstream schools and those with a substantial number of children on free school meals along with other factors.

We will be contacting eligible schools directly to let them know to expect the free pack.
