Bookstart 25th Anniversary Awards: the Rhymetime Award

This year, BookTrust is celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Bookstart. To mark this, we are organising exclusive one-off 25th Anniversary Awards, celebrating the amazing work being done by professionals with Bookstart all over England.

The award that we have opened to public nominations is the Bookstart Rhymetime Award.

Do you love your Rhymetime?

If you attend a local Rhymetime session and think it deserves to win this fantastic award, we'd like to hear what makes your Rhymetime special.

The award is exclusive for the Bookstart 25th Anniversary celebrations this year, so please nominate now so that your Rhymetime is showcased.

The deadline for nominations is 23.59pm on 30 September 2017.

Who can I nominate?

This award is for individuals or organisations who perform regular Rhymetimes within settings in England during the nominations period (1-30 September 2017).

You can nominate either an individual or an organisation. You could nominate your favourite Rhymetime, which might be run by more than one person. This would be nominating an organisation. If you want to nominate a specific person who runs your Rhymetime, this would be nominating an individual.

The Rhymetime does not have to be within a particular setting, any Rhymetime can be nominated. However, it has to be one that you have personally attended so you are able to explain why you think it is deserving of the award.

When nominating, please make sure that your chosen individual or organisation:

  • Delivers Rhymetimes within a library or other setting
  • Keeps parents engaged during rhyme time sessions, working to ensure their active engagement throughout the session
  • Keeps children aged 0-5 engaged in Rhymetimes
  • Goes above and beyond during their sessions
  • Is supported, recognised and respected by the people who benefit from the Rhymetime
  • Works to meet the needs of those within the Rhymetime group

How do I nominate my Rhymetime?

Nominating is easy. All you need to do is click on the button below and complete a short nomination form.

Nominate your Rhymetime

Please be aware when nominating that we may need to contact you, if we feel more detail is required. So please do supply your contact information so that your nominee does not miss out.

All entries will be viewed by our judging panel so we urge you to spend time on carefully completing the nomination form, really demonstrating how good this organisation or individual is.

You'll need to grab the judges’ attention, so please think of ways to gain their interest and remember we will be following up with people if we need more information.
