It’s a cuddle and a story before bedtime. It’s reading about monsters and mayhem whilst being safely tucked up in bed. It’s that new book smell which promises adventure and faraway lands. It’s unlocking an imagination that can last a lifetime.

Yet for too many children, books are a luxury their family can’t afford. They may never have had a book to call their own.

BookTrust wants to deliver book parcels to food banks across the country to make sure that, as well as food on the table, children have presents under the tree. We’re also hoping to deliver books to children in care, who may be spending their first Christmas in an unfamiliar home.
