As part of Children's Book Week we caught up with the first ever recipient of the BookTrust Lifetime Achievement Award, Shirley Hughes OBE.

Shirley Hughes is the author and illustrator of over 200 children's books, but she's not stopping there. Shirley is currently working on a new Alfie book as well as working in collaboration with her daughter, Clara.

BookTrust's Gemma Malley caught up with the BookTrust Lifetime Achievement Award winner to talk about her long and illustrious career, which has spanned seven decades; children's love of reading and her proudest moment.
