Whizziwig and Whizziwig Returns

Publisher: Random House

Ben is a young boy with a fear of sleeping in the dark. However, this fear is justified because living in his room is Whizzwig; a small, furry, black bouncing ball of a creature, who has crash landed on earth.

Fortunately, Whizziwig is a friendly alien - a 'wish-giver' in fact and Ben soons learns to make use of these wishes, though they must always be for someone else. The result is a series of strange and unforeseen adventures, though Ben does finally get what he wished for - a baby in the family.

This bind-up gives the reader two adventures about Whizziwig; both are quick and easy reads for the age group and the appeal of Blackman's creations is undeniable.
