What Planet Are You From, Clarice Bean?

Part of the Clarice Bean series

Publisher: Orchard Books

In this lively, entertaining book, every page is covered with cartoon-like drawings, bright colours, interesting photographic collage and adventurous typography. All these qualities are reflected in the lively heroine herself: the inimitable Clarice Bean.

Clarice can't think of a single thing for her project on the environment, that is until her (usually inert) brother Kurt dashes in and delcares that he is going to become an eco-warrior and mount a protest at the proposed felling of a very old tree.

The whole family joins in, making posters and sitting in the tree, and though she is still late for school, Clarice finally, has the perfect subject for her project! This is an hilarious, informative and highly-recommended read.
