The Treasure of Pirate Frank
Publisher: Nosy Crow
Across the sea, over the island mountains, through the forest and over the swamp, travels a boy as he searches for the treasure of Pirate Frank. The path he must follow is clearly marked on his map, but what will he find at the end? The treasure he’s searching for? Or a surprise that isn’t marked on the map?
This accessible, rhyming story gradually builds up as each new obstacle the main character encounters is added in, offering gentle repetition but without the story becoming actually repetitive. It effectively builds the tension whilst avoiding any really scary obstacles! And the twist where ‘X’ marks the spot is fresh and fun. Offering a similar reading experience to the classic We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, but for a slightly older audience, it’s a great book that can be enjoyed again and again.
