The Tiger Who Came to Tea
Publisher: HarperCollins
Sophie and her Mummy are having tea in the kitchen when in walks a hungry tiger who asks to stay to tea. After eating everything, he moves on to Daddy's supper and for good measure also cleans out the fridge and drinks all the water from the tap.
When Daddy gets home he decides they should all have supper out and the next day Sophie and Mummy buy an extra big tin of tiger food - just in case the tiger comes back!
This delightful picture book from Judith Kerr is a true classic, with enduring appeal for children and parents alike. Kerr's vibrant, colourful illustrations and simple but charming story make this a perfect book to enjoy reading together.

We have been meaning to get this book for ages and then when it was mentioned as the lion's favourite book in 'How To Hide a Lion' we knew we had to get it. Little one sat, transfixed, through the first reading and now often asks us to retell the story while we're in the car or he's in the pushchair. A fun story that makes us talk about what we'd do if a tiger came to our house!

Lovely book. My partner got this for our daughter. Great illustration. I just wish we had a board book version because my little one loves trying to pull the tiger towards her from the page.

This book is a must read every night! My daughter has learnt most of the words and joins in. She finds the pictures fascinating. This is a book about a fascinating event set in day to day life, and there's lots we can relate to in ours - sitting down to lunch / tea / dinner, going out in the dark or to a restaurant and going to the shops.

Too advanced for a 7 1/2 month old baby however he did enjoy looking at the pictures and the sounds I made to gain his attention. This was one of my favourite books as a child so will continue to read it to my little boy as he gets older.

This was one of my favourite stories when I was a child. It's lovely to sit and read it to my little boy. He's only 9 months so he's mainly enjoying the pictures and slapping the pages but I hope he'll love reading it as he gets older.

My daughter, aged 4, loves this book because the girl in the book has the same name as she does. She likes to pretend that it is her in the story.
