The Last Dragonslayer

Times are tough for Jennifer Strange, manager of Kazam Mystical Arts. The power of magic is ebbing; 'once a wizard would have the ear of a king; today they rewire houses and unblock drains.'

But when Wizard Moobin blows up his laboratory and turns lead into gold, then predictions of a new Dragonslayer coming to slay the Last Dragon begin, Jennifer starts to suspect Big Magic might be afoot. What she didn't suspect was that she would be the one doing the slaying...

Wonderfully named, eccentric characters (Unstable Mable, Tiger Prawns, Yogi Baird), a deeply wise dragon and an unflappable heroine faced with an ever-spiralling plot combine in this very funny fantasy, which wryly looks at which traditions and enchantments society really values.
