The First Shadow Dragon

Having defeated the fearsome Grendilock and rescued Cadno, the last firefox, Charlie Challinor thought the door to the land of Fargone was closed for good. But it seems a new threat is lurking in the magical land and, because Charlie is probably the only one who can save it, the door has been opened again.

Charlie is reluctant to leave his two dads and baby sister, Edie, but the plea for help is desperate. And when Edie disappears through the door, there is no choice but to follow.

Before they know it, Charlie and his friends, old and new, are caught up in a forbidden mission to stop a monster and rescue a world.

In this follow-up to The Last Firefox, a naturally timid boy is forced to find his inner strength in order to defeat the fearsome Draig which is destroying the lifeforce of Fargone.

Charlie, his dads and his friends are diverse and inclusive characters who have depth and realistic personal struggles concerning the best way to cope with difficult situations, while a host of weird, magical creatures and wonderful black and white illustrations add light relief and humour.
