Superhero Mum

Mums are heroes, and no one is more heroic for the little girl featured in this retro Pop Art-styled picture book than her playground-chasing, cake-making, teddy-finding, bubble-bearded Supermum.

Mum does everything, from mending to washing to kisses for a scraped knee – but perhaps the best thing she does is tell her little girl what a superhero she is, too.

Joe Berger’s bright, stylish illustrations are full of pizzazz and there’s a great upbeat message here about strong female role models and everything mums do to make their children happy.

A great addition to the sometimes more pastel-toned books out there.
