Oh No, George!
Publisher: Walker Books
George is a dog with a big personality and he LOVES cake, rubbish bins and chasing Cat. After he behaves badly when his owner Harris is out, he tries harder on a trip to the park - but will he be able to resist temptation?
Being a Booktrust Best New Illustrator 2011, you'd expect Chris Haughton's artwork to be amazing - but the sophisticated rich jewel colour palette offers both adults and children something beautiful to look at. George's facial expressions (for instance, a subtle positioning of his ears) and body language (a paw gently offering his favourite rubber ducks as an apology) are full of humour, and will prompt young readers to delve in and pick out all the funny details in the pictures.
George's naughty behaviour will be familiar to dog-lovers, and is sure to resonate with children, who will soon find themselves giggling over this gorgeous picture book, and joining in with the repeated refrain of 'Oh no, George!'

My 3-year-old son loves this story and the anticipation of whether or not George will be good or naughty each time he encounters something truly tempting!

This is a fantastic book about a dog who has problems with impulse control. My toddler howls with laughter when George can't resist the cake. Not only is it entertaining and a very beautiful book, it has been invaluable in instituting boundaries with him in a humorous way - I jus...

My 3-year-old is never sure if George is going to be good at the end and that's what I love - that it makes him think about what might happen next and how it can change every time we read the story.

Very funny when George tries to be good but can't but then shows that he can be good and in the end he's naughty again.

My 4 year old picked up the gist of the story on the second time of reading and now tells me the story and does the actions. Won't go to bed till he's read it.
