Happy Birthday, Sausage!

Sausage is a dachshund who likes sausages. He lives with two snooty cats who enjoy teasing him. The family prepare a big celebration for Sausage’s birthday, but the cats put all the party invitations in the dustbin. Sausage is upset when it seems no one wants to come to his birthday party. The cats snigger and sneer at him.
Fortunately, Dan the recycling man, finds all the invitations when he collects the waste paper, and he and his dog deliver them. Eventually all the guests turn up for the party and everyone, except for the cats, has a wonderful time.
There are lots of delightful illustrations in this story for children who have just begun to read books with chapters.
