We love the quirky stories and inventive rhymes - this series of books are some of our favourites. The one we've read most so far is Hairy Maclary and Zachary Quack, but we just found Hairy Maclary's Caterwaul Caper and I think that might overtake it - Monty loves all the different dog barks in that one and has started shouting out "bow wow wow!" at random times throughout the day!

This book is quite adventurous . Its a great read with preschool aged children but also with toddlers as it has colourful pictures and amazing rhyming words . As a practitioner in a early years setting , I can say that its worth a read . Try using different voices to make it even more interesting

My mum read this to me when I was young and I read it to my son. I've read it since he was probably about 6 months old and now he's 3 and still loves it. We've got all the other books in the series and have also been to see it in the theatre which I would strongly recommend it, my son (and me and my mum LOVED it) I don't know anyone who doesn't love these books.
