Delicious!

Duck, Squirrel and Cat return, in the third instalment of Helen Cooper’s award-winning Pumpkin Soup trilogy. Once again, the preoccupation is with all things culinary, as the animals realise the pumpkins in their pumpkin patch are not ripe enough to create their beloved soup.

The various soups that Squirrel and Cat prepare instead do not satisfy Duck, whose tummy is getting emptier and emptier. So, eventually they prepare a soup containing delicious, courgettes, tomatoes and carrots and corn, which looks just like pumpkin soup but will it taste as good?

Exquisitely detailed and rich illustrations make this a joy to read. Children will love the visual sub-plot involving resident insects, as well as trying out the recipe for pink soup included in the front of the book!
