Review

In a creative retelling of the Cinderella story, it's Cinderella's third ugly sister sister Gertie, who is the nice one. Gertie really wants to go to the ball, but there's no way that Mrs Ugly will let her go unless she can prove she's just as horrible as they are. But try as she might, Gertie just can't help foiling the attempts of some of the best known villains in fairy tales.

With the help of her Fairy Godmother and a Wolf that really wants to go to the ball too, Gertie manages to get a happy ending after all. She realises that even if people say you should be bad, it's always best to be good.

The book also comes with a Stories Aloud audiobook, which you can scan to access with your smartphone.
